I installed a dog door in a metal security door. Cutting it out with a grinder and cutting blade was easy. Make sure to measure the piece accurately that connects the outside and inside parts. Initially had to prop it open with a tall can until my dog learned to use it. The magnets on each side didn’t work well.

Currently, this door is working well. I needed to enhance its stability by adding some wood, as it is a patio screen door that is not very thick. The plastic flapper does not always close entirely, but I anticipated that. Overall, I am very pleased with this product at the moment.

The installation was straightforward using a drill and jig saw, although I had to slightly enlarge the hole from the template to make one side fit properly. The flap doesn’t always stay closed securely, but I appreciate that the door is lightweight to accommodate my dog’s needs.
