One of my dogs is quite messy when he drinks, but this mat does a great job of collecting the excess water without getting damp. I have tried mats from various brands, but this one stood out to me because of its grippy bottom that prevents it from sliding around when the door opens. I am a big fan of this compact mat. It is definitely a good value for the money. The mat quickly absorbs most of the water upon stepping on it and has a high water-holding capacity. It is soft and can be easily machine washed. I have washed it twice already, and it still looks great. I am planning to purchase another one for my other door.
