Over the past thirteen years of caring for dogs, I have found that puzzle toys and slow feeders can vary in effectiveness depending on the individual dog. I have tried numerous types of puzzle toys and have had mixed results with them. My experience has mostly been with medium-sized dogs, such as pitbull mixes, in the 45-75 pound range. Some puzzle toys are better suited for larger, stronger dogs that can manipulate lids or covers to access treats.

My dogs absolutely adore these puzzle toys! I make sure to get a new one each time I come across it. These puzzles are perfect for curious dogs, as they can keep my little ones entertained for up to an hour when filled. My dogs vary in age from 2 to 10 years and are all under 10 lbs, yet they all enjoy playing with these puzzles without any issues. This particular one took them a bit longer to figure out compared to the others they have, as it requires a pushing motion rather than spinning.

My puppy adores this toy! It’s simple for her to use, and she absolutely delights in discovering her own treats. Initially, I had to demonstrate how it works a few times, showing her that there is kibble inside and that you need to open the flap to access it. She thoroughly enjoys playing with this toy!

The product arrived fully assembled with an extra door included as a spare. I opted to hand wash and dry it before use, as the clear piece may change color if run through the dishwasher. I plan to continue hand washing this part in the future and possibly the entire product, unsure how the doors will fare. I purchased this puzzle toy for my clever cat, who usually outsmarts other cat puzzle toys. She took a while to figure out the trap doors that dispense food, as she kept trying to reach around the back. It took her about 20 minutes to finally understand that part. She’s still getting the hang of standing on the middle to get more treats out, but we’re making progress. This puzzle has been the first one to truly stump her, which is surprising. I purchased the dog version of this product and have found it useful for storing my medium-sized dog’s treats or using it as an optional feeding tool. My dog is still learning to press the center to refill it, but I believe she will grasp it with more practice. It took a few tries for her to understand that she needs to flip the flaps upward.
I appreciate that this product includes replacement flaps as I can see them being damaged by more energetic dogs. I deducted one star as I am concerned…

I am very impressed with this food dispenser. It is colorful and of high quality, which makes it very appealing. My pet gets super excited whenever they see it. I find it very well-made and sturdy, so I feel comfortable letting my pet move it around. It is easy to access the food or treats, and serves both as a fun toy and a reliable food dispenser. Overall, I think it’s a great product.

I was uncertain if my dogs would take to this product, but one of them is scared of it while the other one loves it. It only took the one who enjoys it about 15 minutes to figure out how to nudge the doors open with her nose to get the treats inside. Despite my initial concern that this might only be suitable for smaller dogs, my larger breeds have had no trouble using it.
