I have a border collie and no toy has lasted as long as this one. It’s not indestructible, as he managed to make a hole in it within 2 days, but it seems like it will last at least a couple of months. The durability will depend on the dog; I have a friend whose toy lasted over a year. It’s very tough, so it’s not recommended for indoor throwing as it could damage the floor, but it’s fine for outdoor play, preferably on grass. My dog really enjoys it.

Although nylabones are not meant to be digested, small pieces can break off easily. However, my dog tends to spit out most of these pieces without any problems. He seems to prefer the texture of this bone over softer alternatives. The size of the bone also makes it last longer compared to other options. It’s important to monitor your dog’s chewing time to avoid irritating their gums from prolonged chewing in the same spot.

My 10-month-old mix breed’s main objective is to destroy toys as quickly as possible. This bone has been a lifesaver! It keeps him engaged for a while and he hasn’t been able to destroy it yet. While you can see where he’s chewed on it, the bone remains intact. Interestingly, my dog likes to place his paw on the bone and slide it around while chewing, which is quite entertaining for me to observe.
