I used to have a pet safe sliding glass dog door insert that was great – it sealed well, had excellent build quality, and a secure cover. The new one I purchased, however, didn’t meet my expectations. It came with a flimsy plastic cover that didn’t seem secure enough. Even a light tap made it fall off, which was disappointing. I would give this product 5 stars if the bolts were stronger. Unfortunately, the threads stripped on each bolt, causing the door to be less secure. However, I found the magnet attachment to the frame to be effective in keeping the flap closed. The door was easy to assemble, but I would recommend replacing the plastic bolts with steel ones for a more sturdy setup.

I have 7 dogs of varying sizes, from 20 pounds to 110 pounds, and they all can easily pass through this doggy door. I’ve installed numerous doggy doors in my home, and this one is perfect for indoor use. For outside doors, I recommend weatherproof doggy doors with heavier flaps to withstand winds. Here are the steps I followed to install this door:

I ordered the medium size and it fits my 12 kg French bulldog perfectly. He learned how to use it on the same day it was installed. The screws included seem a bit flimsy to me (made of plastic) but they can be easily replaced. Overall, I find it to be of good quality, but as others have mentioned, the “lock” lid is too easy to push open. In our case, it is installed on a terrace where I have no issue if it remains open all the time.
