We purchased both styles of this product and my dog enjoys both of them. I appreciate the versatility of being able to fill it with peanut butter, yogurt, and other treats, and it can even be frozen. I personally don’t find the backside, marketed as a lick mat, very useful. I think the front side works better as a lick mat or for her kibble. Overall, we love it! My dog prefers it over a slow feeding bowl.

I am a fan of all West Paw products, and this one is no exception. The design of this feeding mat is fantastic – one side features raised edges for slow feeding, while the other side has grooves that double as a lick mat. I filled the raised side with treats and placed it in the freezer to add an extra challenge for my dogs. They really enjoyed playing with it. The mats came out of the freezer easily and were simple to wash and clean afterward. Overall, this is a fantastic product for any dog!

My elderly dog has the opposite eating behavior that this feeder is designed for – she tends to eat slowly from a bowl due to arthritis issues. However, this feeder has surprisingly helped her finish her food more efficiently. I believe it adds an element of fun to her mealtime.
