This ear cleaner was highly effective, but it caused my dog’s ear flaps to become very dry and scaly after just two uses. It may be too potent for dogs with sensitive ears or skin. Note that this review specifically pertains to the 1% hydrocortisone product by Zymox. For dogs with sensitivities, the 0.5% hydrocortisone or hydrocortisone-free options might be more suitable.

This ear care drops is the only one that my pitbull and English mastiff willingly accept. Other products are a struggle to use on them, but with this one, they show no signs of discomfort. They even compete to have it applied in their ears, unlike the vet-supplied ear wash that makes them cry. I am a big fan of these drops and will never switch to any other brand.
